About

I am a Senior Researcher at Fraunhofer AICOS in Porto, Portugal. I study how people live with chronic conditions and how they use technology. The ultimate goal is to better understand patients and carers and better design for them.

I see myself as a multi-disciplinary researcher, who draws on different literatures and contributes to distinct disciplines. Most of my research outputs add to discussions in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), but I contribute as well to Medical Informatics, and Science and Technology Studies (STS).

I received a PhD in HCI from TU Wien in 2017, and a Master in Informatics and Computer Engineering from the University of Porto in 2010. Moreover, I started working on research at Fraunhofer AICOS (2008-2012), and have held research positions at TU Wien (2012-2017), and the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (2016-2017).
